House finally decorated

We finally decorated the house. We have lived in our house almost 2 years with minimal decor. Before I left for Georgia we gave our good friend, Kasi Miller(a very talented interior decorator), a budget and told her to do her thang. When I returned home this is what I found. I love it. Thanks Kasi.

Lil B update

Here are just pics of Brecken from the last month. I can't believe how fast he is growing. At his 4 month check-up he weighed 14 lbs (34%) 25 in. long (73%). He has 2 bottom teeth and is getting more. He is always so smiley and happy. I couldn't ask for a better baby!!!

He loves his Minky blanket. Every night when he goes to bed he just rubs it all over his face.

Summer Trip to Georgia

My annual summer trip back home this year was fun. It was Brecken's first airplane ride and he did great. Slept the whole flight there and back. He did really well, which I'm glad(didn't want to be the person with the crying kid the whole flight). While there I taught swim lessons, hung out with the fam, had a baby shower for my sister (her 5th child. Finally got a boy.) Here are a few pics from the trip.

This is my brother's wife, Amber. She was only a few days from giving birth. Glad I got to meet Paisley before I headed back home.

While in Georgia, discovered my sisters kids sleep in the strangest place. Loralei fell asleep at the kitchen table while coloring & Ethan fell asleep in the bathtub. Crazy kids!!!!

One thing I miss about Georgia besides my family, is a good storm. It was raining so hard, you could hardly see out the front windshield. I miss sitting on a front porch in a rocking chair just watching the sky fall out.

Brecken's Blessing

Brecken was blessed at church today. Doug did a great job. We had lots of family & friends there, and are grateful for all those who came and participated. We had a little luncheon at Doug's mom house afterwards.

The month of May

My sister came out to visit the first of May. We really had a great time. It was fun having her here. While she was here, Ironman was in town, so we went and hung out at the finish line for a while to watch those AMAZING athletes finish. Here are just some random pics of Brecken throughout the month of May. He is growing so fast.

My mom flew out 2 weeks after he was born to help me out. I'm really glad she came. I was glad to have the help. While she was here, we went down to Gilbert to do his newborn pics(saved for a later post.) Here are some pics from that visit.

April Fool's Day

This year April Fools Day was the best day of my life! My little Brecken Davis was born. After a long labor, he finally entered the world via C-section at 12:49 am, weighing in at 7lbs 6 oz & 21 in. long. Here are a few pics for that day.

B's Room

Lil B's room is coming along quite nicely. We just have a few things left to do. We need to get his name on the wall above the crib, hang a shelf, and build a window bench. Nothing major though. I can't believe I only have about 4 weeks left.

And yes, each wall is a different color. Thanks Kasi for the idea and colors. We love it!!!

33 weeks

I had a few people ask for a belly pic, so here it is. The only one you will probably see. I can't believe I am 33 weeks. Time has really flown by. Can't believe the lil guy will be in here in a month and a half. We have the baby's room finished minus his name on the wall. As soon as I get that up, I'll post pics of his room.

Girl or Boy????

I went in to the Dr. for my 20 week ultrasound to see what we were having. According to Doug, he has always said a boy. The closer I got to my appointment, the more I kinda thought it was a girl. Well we did the ultrasound and we are having a baby...........................

We are both very excited about this new edition that will be joining our family oddly enough on April Fool's Day. We have a first name picked out, but are stuck on a middle name. Maybe I'll put up a poll of the names I've come up with and see which one gets the most votes. Who knows.

Cali Trip

Earlier this year we did the "Disney give a day, get day" and received free Disneyland tickets. Doug's older sister Amy and her family did it as well and so we headed to California for a few days. We had a blast. We left on Wednesday. We went to Disneyland on Thursday, the beach all day on Friday, Saturday we went & saw Toy Story 3 (really cute), had lunch, did a little shopping, went down to Newport beach rode beach cruiser's down the boardwalk, played at the beach and then ate dinner at Bubba Gump's (not worth the money). Over all we had a blast and I can't wait to go back( even though I'm not a huge fan of Cali beaches, its a beach and the ocean so it will have to do. Here are some pics from our trip!!

For Christmas this year, I decided instead of buying my neices and nephew toys, I would make them all quilts. I made a total of 5 quilts and managed to put a sewing machine needle through my finger, which required having my finger sliced opened to find the missing tip of the needle and getting 2 stitches. Doug was supposed to get to Georgia at 5 on Christmas Eve, but ended up missing his connecting flight in Dallas, due to weather. He ended up having to stay overnight in Dallas and catching the next available flight to Atlanta on Christmas Day. I'll have to admit, I missed not having him there.

Meet the newest member of our family. This is outdoor dog Phelps(his previous owner gave him that name and said we couldn't change it) and he loves to swim. He is such a good dog. He loves to play fetch and go for runs.

Utah vs Oregon

Since we are die hard Utah fans, we drove all the way to Eugene, Oregon to watch the Utes battle the Ducks. We left from Salt Lake drove to Burley, Idaho to pick up Adam and his wife Genn then continued our 10 hour drive to Portland, Oregon. I had no idea that you can't pump your own gas in Oregon. I thought that was the strangest thing. We headed down to Eugene on Saturday to watch the game and of course it rained the entire time. Although the Utes lost, we still had a great time. We got to see a Oregon fan get peppered sprayed and the people they hire for crowd control, I'm not sure where they find them. Anyways here are some pics from our trip. As you can see we had great seats. Thats right row 5.

I know I really need to update this, but I have no idea what to put on here. Not much going on these days. We did drive all the way to Oregon to watch the Utes play. Although they lost we still had a great time. Doug's good friend Adam and his wife went with us. While there I got to see my best friend Jenny that now lives in Seattle. Her and her husband drove down to meet us for dinner. Doug is busy with work spending most of his days in Salt Lake. I am looking forward to the holidays cause that means I get to go home to Georgia and see the fam. Well that about all I can think of right now. I'll post some pics from our trip hopefully soon.

I went home for 3 weeks and had a blast. I got to be there when my new niece was born, I got to celebrate with Ms Heidi for her 3rd birthday. We went to the beach for a week for the 4th. We all had a great time. Just some pics from my tirp back home. Sorry about the picture overload.

Private or Not Private... That is the question

I need your help. Doug has been hounding me to make our blog private. His reason behind this is not real sure. I dont want to make it private since i see no reason why it should be. We don't have pics of kids on here or ourselves at that. I think its annoying when you find a friends blog, but then can't look at it cause its set to private and you have no way of contacting them. So leave comments and let me know what ya'll think. Should we go private or leave it the way it is? If ain't broke, don't fix it!

Just wanted to let everyone know we are still alive, just dont really have anything blog worthy to write about. Our lives these days are busy with work, work, work. Hopefully soon I'll have something better to share.

O Christmas Tree, O Christmas Tree

We finally got out Christmas tree. What an adventure it was. We headed to Cedar City on Saturday to go find one, cut it down and bring it back home. When we arrived in Cedar it was sunny and a little windy. As we started driving up the canyon, snow flurries started to fall. Once we were on top of the mountain the snow was really coming down. We found our tree and headed home. When we got back on the main canyon road it was a full blown blizzard. White out condition. The only way for us to navigate down the road was for Doug to have his head out his window while i had mine out my window looking for the reflective markers on the side of the road. For those of you that can imagine that, Im sure you are cracking up with laughter. It took us 3 hours to get home. Overall we had a great time. We now have the tree up and decorated. I will post some pics as soon as I can get it working.

New Orleans here we come

We are headed to New Orleans for the BCS Sugar Bowl on Jan 2. We are so excited. Our tickets are bought, plane tickets booked, rental car, hotel, etc... This is our Christmas gifts to each other this year. Merry Christmas!!!

Anxiously Waiting

We are anxiously waiting to find out which bowl game Utah will go to so we will know how far we have to drive. While it looks like they are going to the Sugar Bowl in New Orleans, I would rather have them go to the Fiesta Bowl in Phoenix. A 6 hour drive is much better than a 26 hour drive. Go Utes!!!!
